I have tried a lot of different shaving brushes, and there is no boar brush I like better than the somewhat obscure Omega 80267.* Though the dark band on this brush is just dyed in, there is something about the way these Omega banded boar knots are processed that feels different--and better-- than their undyed knots. Omega sells other brushes with banded boar knots, but most that I've tried have a higher loft. I prefer the shorter loft of the 80267 because it gives the brush more backbone and a very pleasant scrubby feeling against the face.
The handle is light molded plastic, and if there was one improvement I could make to this brush it'd be a more substantial handle. But as it is, it is ergonomic and I love the way the ivory/black/ivory color scheme echoes the colors of the banded boar knot.
It also comes with a little stand.
*There is one boar brush I like just as much, but it was custom made for me and so not widely available.
