There is a whole family of Patent 1912 razors, and they make a great introduction to the world of Gem-style single edge razors: plenty efficient but not too harsh.
Star 1912s like this one were made beginning in 1933. That American Safety Razor continued cranking these out under various brand and model names for several decades is a testament to the enduring usability of the design. This one is in great shape, and even includes the original paper insert where the blade goes. It does have a few scratches, mainly on the top of the blade cover. It is functionally perfect.
