Most of the Gem-style single edge razors are great shavers but still very cheap-- they just aren't as sought after as Gillettes. The exception, though, is the Streamline. It's build quality and looks give it quite a following, and that results in a higher price.
"Streamline" often is a bit of a misnomer: the same razor went by various names-- Streamline, Jewel, Ambassador, etc., depending on the case it was sold in. Today, Streamline has become the general term for the whole family. But, this one is in fact a real Streamline! The name refers to the sleek, art deco case.
The razor itself is substantial and well built, and plated with thick chrome. It provides a smooth, efficient shave. This one has a bit of wear that you'll see if you look closely at the photos, but is in general in really nice shape.
