This lovely mid-century shaving brush was brought back to glorious life by a skilled artisan we reached out to. Though it has no branding, it was definitely a nicer brush than most when it was originally sold. The handle, a substantial piece of solid catalin*, was lathe turned into an attractive and ergonomic shape, kind of a chubby keyhole. Once ivory colored, it now boasts a gorgeous, natural butterscotch patina. It shines like new, and has been fitted with a high quality, 26mm 2-band badger knot.
*Catalin, an early plastic similar to bakelite, is prone to developing cracks over time, and sure enough, this brush handle does have a crack in its base (see photos). However, the crack is stable and does not impact the structural integrity of the brush.
